Since the 60s The Salvation Army has been collecting new / used clothes from the public. We collect and turn used items or excess items into useful things to help people by.
- Distributing the gifts-in-kind to the needy e.g. home alone elderly, street sleepers, rehabilitated persons and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients
- Creating employment and training opportunities for middle-aged women and the socially disadvantaged
- Funding community services provided by The Salvation Army
- Reducing waste and protecting the environment
The Salvation Army is working in 127 countries/ places and has been serving Hong Kong for over 80 years. We are currently operating 81 social services units, 33 schools and nurseries, 17 corps (churches) and 1 outpost and 16 Family Stores in Hong Kong and Macau. There are offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Yunnan for poverty alleviation development in China.
