The temperature will start to drop drastically from tomorrow onwards. Therefore, The Salvation Army recruited over 30 volunteers from Rotary Club in Hong Kong and The Salvation Army Integrated Service for Street Sleepers to visit the homeless in Yau Tsim Mong area today (15 December), distributing warm clothing, blankets and food... The volunteers include over 20 Rotary members from business and professional sectors, as well as over 10 supporters who have been joining hands with the Army for a long time. 

More than 100 packs of clothing and food were distributed tonight. The Army will visit the street sleepers again in the near future to provide services such as counselling and accommodation whenever necessary. The Salvation Army hopes to arouse public awareness about the situation of the street sleepers through visitation. Major David Ip, Corps 

Officer of The Salvation Army Kowloon Central Corps (church), said, “We are grateful for the support of our volunteers, donors, the Social Welfare Department, partners and companies. Their generosity enables The Salvation Army to meet the needs of the vulnerable and the marginalised in the cold weather. Elders in need are welcomed to contact our social workers to acquire the warm clothing through our Recycling Programme.”
